Pterm provides an SSH, Telnet, and raw TCP client for your Mac computer! It is based on the popular desktop client ‘PuTTY’. With the most Mac-like interface available, Transmit makes FTP as simple, fun, and easy as it can possibly be. ![]() Transmit is an excellent FTP (file transfer protocol), SFTP, S3 ( file hosting) and iDisk/WebDAV client that allows you to upload, download, and delete files over the internet. ![]() While less known on OS X, the Windows counterpart of the app is more famous, owing to its ease of use. FileZilla is a free FTP client available for Windows, Mac and Linux users. Both the client and server of each one are back, and these are Apple's original versions of these programs. Apple's Telnet and FTP programs are back in High Sierra thanks to this homebrew pull request (by yours truly). Two computers involved in an FTP transfer are called a client and a server. An FTP client is generally used to copy files from one machine to another over the Internet. FTP stands for the File Transfer Protocol.
